The Process
In today's digital age, subscriptions have become an integral part of our lives. From streaming services to fitness apps, it’s easy to accumulate a large number of subscriptions that can quickly become overwhelming. Managing these subscriptions effectively is crucial to avoid overspending and ensure you're getting the most value for your money.
Start by creating a list of all your active subscriptions. This includes everything from Netflix and Spotify to your monthly gym membership and cloud storage services. Once you have a clear picture of what you're subscribed to, categorize them into essentials and non-essentials. Essentials are those services you can’t live without, while non-essentials are those you can consider cutting back on.
The Result
Next, review your spending patterns. How much are you spending monthly on subscriptions? Are there any subscriptions that overlap in service or content? This is a common pitfall—subscribing to multiple streaming services that offer similar shows and movies, for example. By identifying these overlaps, you can consolidate your subscriptions and save money.
Finally, make a habit of regularly reviewing your subscriptions. Set aside time every few months to reassess your needs. If a service isn’t being used or doesn’t provide the value it once did, consider canceling or pausing it. With a little effort and regular monitoring, you can take control of your subscription spending and ensure that each service you pay for is worth it.
Breaking down the project
The design process for the fitness centre mobile app involved several key stages. Firstly, I conducted extensive user research to understand the needs of gym-goers and identify pain points with existing fitness apps.
Building on strong foundations
Based on this research, I developed user personas and created wireframes to map out the app’s functionality and structure. From there, I created a high-fidelity prototype and conducted usability testing to refine the design and improve the user experience. The final design included features such as a personalised workout tracker and an easy-to-use booking system.
Collaborating
Throughout the process, I worked closely with the fitness centre’s team to ensure that the app met their requirements and aligned with their brand identity.
Final outcome
The final outcome of the fitness centre mobile app was a user-friendly and engaging digital product that exceeded the client’s expectations.
Users were able to easily view class schedules, book sessions, and track their fitness progress, all within a seamless and intuitive app experience.
As a result, the fitness centre saw an increase in user engagement and loyalty, and the app has become an important part of their overall customer experience.
